One problem I see in both the Hennessy and the Clark that I have is that when one bends a knee laying on their back, the knee is up against mosquito netting instead of nylon weave. If the skin is bare, I'd expect those critters to drill me right through the netting. On one of the outdoor materials sites that someone kindly provided a URL to, I see nylon material that's sixty inches long. The hammock I dummied up after trying Hennessy and Clark is 48" wide. I think the next one I try will be the full sixty inches wide (maybe 56....with hemming) and 13 feet long. We'll see.... I can always narrow it before attaching the mosquito netting.... One possible problem with more width is that the sleeper may be enveloped by the heavier material to the point where it gets stuffy inside. Even with the Clark, I can sense stuffiness with the netting zipped up... ----------------------- Pete Cresswell *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Tue Sep 05 2000 - 17:22:57 PDT
