My paddling buddy is going on a paddle trip to Thailand and wants to know about portage wheels. Hey, can you post a question to the PW site asking which kayak wheels would be best for use on a double Klepper folding kayak? I would like to get a set of wheels for when Barry & I take our trip. >> I have a Klepper Aerius II and I use a Primex kayak cart with it. The cart was recommended to me by Peter Schwierzke of Klepper West, a dealer who specializes in Kleppers as well as other folding kayaks. I don't know if he has a website but Klepper West is at 6155 Mt. Aukum Road, Somerset, CA 95684-0130; Tel. (530)626-8647; Fax (530)626-6893. The Primex cart is the only cart I have ever used so I cannot compare it any others but I am quite happy with it. I often go out alone kayak sailing and I can handle the Aerius II easily with it by myself. It does o.k. on soft beach sand as long as I am on level sand or pushing downslope to the water. Going uphill on a dune is a struggle. It's quite sturdy and I like the way the wheels come off and the way the cart folds up flat for storage. It fits easily inside the Klepper and also inside behind the seat back in my Feathercraft K-1.
