I have a Trangia 25 for kayak camping and a 28 for backpacking. One thing I
found out on my last hiking trip was that the less amount of fuel you put
into the cup, the faster your cook time will be. It seems that the alcohol
needs to reach a certain temp before it could work at boiling your water.
The less amount of alcohol you have in the cup the faster you arrive at that
temp. I used one ounce of alcohol to boil a liter of water and my time was
about 6 minutes with the 28. The Trangia 25 is alot nicer and faster in my
opinion but way too heavy for backpacking.
