I was reading in our local paper yesterday how 'scientists and geologists' report that we are in no danger of the world's oil reserves running dry. They 'reported', with a straight face no less, that we have "up to forty more years before the oil runs out...." Of course, 'they' report that we might have to strip mine the entire planet and become indebted to objectionable 'dictators', but otherwise, no worries. Not to make light of those who have been injured in their encounters with the world's non-human creatures, but I'm hoping that the seals, black bears, mosquitoes and (insert subliminable message here) RATS get organized rather quickly. It may be our only hope. If I could, I'd direct them to the addresses of a few notable 'scientists' and 'geologists'...of which we have a plentiful supply. Bon appetite. -Will "My kayak doesn't ride on Firestones" Jennings *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Sep 27 2000 - 13:02:55 PDT
