>Regarding PA, you are thinking of the $10 annual launch permit for >state parks. There isn't a licensing requirement for canoes and >kayaks. However, to use any fish commission facilities (some >lakes and launch sites), you do need to license your canoe or >kayak. NOT a license. It is state registration. This isn't a big deal if you bought the boat in Pennsylvania, >however, they will force you to pay state sales tax on any boat >purchased out of state. No. They will levy the PA sales tax on your boat if you cannot demonstrate that you paid a state sales tax where you reside. I live in NJ and I paid the tax there or in Florida where I bought one. They cannot tax again. They are satisfied if you paid the tax Somewhere. I also bought one boat in Delaware, which has no sales tax. They did not reguire that I pay it to them. Supposedly (I haven.t tested it) the F&G Registration supercedes DCNR stickers required for state parks, and also for county level parks.
