Hello Everyone! How about a Fall getaway to Cape Cod, Massachusetts? I'm putting together a kayak event as a benefit for my Rotary Club. We raise money for college scholarships for our local high school students. So, being a kayaker (casual, novice, etc.) I thought we might try a kayak event on our beautiful Bass River, a tidal inlet from Nantucket Sound. The Paddlefest includes a 2 mile kayak race or a non-competitive dock-to-dock kayak rally, a demonstration of kayak skills, a picnic lunch, awards ceremony, and a Paddlefest Fair with dealer displays (including handmade) and a climbing wall. Its my first attempt at this but everything seems to be coming together. We just need paddlers! Remember its for a good cause; and Cape Cod can be colorful in the Fall. The date is Sept. 30 (rain date Oct. 1). Solo entry - $15, tandem - $22. First 50 get free T-shirts!
