G'Day Jackie AND Paddlewise

Someone has attached an anonymous message to one of my posts on Paddlewise
which is highly undesirable - I am concerned that Paddlewisers may think its
from me and or that it is associated with the Paddlewise Who's Who list.
PLEASE PADDLEWISERS DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE POST BELOW MY SIGN OFF IS FROM ME
OR ON BEHALF OF PADDLEWISE - IT IS ANONYMOUS AND I CAN ONLY ASSUME
MALICIOUS.

Sorry to trouble you all with this - Concerned, Peter Osman

The end of my VALID message: -

>Australia there were 249 confirmed unprovoked shark attacks of which
>96 were fatal. The Florida Natural History Museum Web Site has a
>comprehensive bibliography on sharks, which includes ways of
>avoiding them. http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/

>All the best, PeterO.

THE UNDESIRABLE ATTACHMENT IS BELOW - PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME THIS IS FROM
Who'S Who or PADDLEWISE - PeterO

Hi Peter and the rest of Paddlewise. My guess is that this attachment
is coming in from Peters use of Hotmail - a free email service and
(I'm assuming) a part of the Microsoft Network.

And there it is again....

Hi Peter and all,

What's happening here is that Hotmail (among other ISP's) is attaching
advertisements to the bottom of each message you send. You don't see
it when you send it. It is attached after you send your message. Your
receiver (meaning us PaddleWisers) get to see it 8-}

I've been trying to catch these. We first tried stripping them
automatically (Yahoo was the worst). Then, they got smart about it and
started varying the ads just enough to make it impossible to automatically
strip the ads. This is the real price of the "free" email/web services.

So.... the following ISP's are being filtered so that I can manually
strip the ads. Not fun and occasionally I miss some of them. My
apologies.

usa.net
yahoo.com
excite.com
hotmail.com

If you send email through these email services, expect your email
directed to the list to be delayed. The ads, which have absolutely
nothing to do with PaddleWise, are becoming increasingly invasive.
If you are paying for your email service and ads are being attached
and you object, you might want to find another email provider that
does not do this (there are plenty).

Regards,

Jackie
list-owner
