Hello, I am planning another stitch and glue kayak project for this winter. I will do some modifications (beam, freeboard, waterline etc.) to the current design. For the new boat I want to add a skeg (no rudder or skeg on the current boat), since the intended modifications will affect the tracking. I believe that I picked up some time ago the information that there is a plan / instruction published somewhere how to add a retractable skeg to a S&G kayak. Can't remember the details. Does anybody has details, further information, or even plans for skegbox, skeg, mechanism? I appreciate all information and hints. What material would be best for the fin? Steel, alu, plastic, or plywood (not serious)? Cheers Ulli Dr. Ulli Hoeger Dept.
