I was wearing street clothes.  That's a good point.  Although around here 
(North Alabama) we don't need wetsuits most of the year.  I believe the 
braces could be modified and someone told me offlist that on the Perception 
boats you can actually remove and exchange the thigh braces.

I'm glad you mentioned that.  I hadn't even thought of that.

I've gotten several back channel responses from other tall folks, and 
evidently this is not an uncommon problem.  I have gotten a couple of other 
boat suggestions, plus I remembered Wes Boyd's Boats for Big Guys page at:

I'm going to check out some of those too.
