[Paddlewise] Bush tucker

Greetings,

I'm not sure if damper is going to be my cup of tea (or, more accurately, my
lump of sodden, scorched goo!). The link below will take you to a scouting
site with a number of downloadable cookbooks. Some of the stuff seems
perfect for 11-year-olds -- enough sugar to make your teeth hurt just
reading the recipe. But much of it is perfect for what we do. Lots of good
ideas to go with the recipes.

Two pieces of indispensable equipment are a home dehydrator and a dutch
oven. A proper dutch oven can even displace a few of Dr. Inverbron's (sp?)
official Ballast Rocks (TM).

In the same vein, I'd like to see what we could come up with in the way of
foraging, or how best to harvest and prepare what nature has at hand.

Regards,

Mark Paxton
