Nice job in describing your Stillwater Canyon trip -- did that in March, 1999
with my son.  Saw fewer people than you did -- couple of the pullouts you
skipped because they were occupied are the "primo" stops, particularly the one
just below the Turk's Head.  That explains the crowding.  March was very nice
for us, but I've heard it can get pretty windy and cold then.  September seems
like a better time.

I'm impressed at the job you did in consolidating gear into those tiny boats!

We did it in the much-despised, 15-foot green Coleman canoe, which we rented
from an outfitter.  His hull scratches and dents.
