Kayaks are appearing in all sorts of media these days, but I never expected kayaking in one of my favorite types of films ... 1950's B horror movies. This week I was watching the AMC horror marathon movie "The Deadly Mantis." Giant prehistoric preying mantis thaws in Artic and heads south. One of first attacks is on a native villiage. Great scene with 20-40 skin kakays being launched and paddled out into a bay. It looks like some documentary footage spliced into the movie. Anyone know what film this footage may have been taken from. The kayak footage is very short, but I may have to rent the movie just to get a look at some real Greenland technique. Mark J.
