Ain't it the truth. I don't begrudge the park fees, but a fee for a
*kayak* to use a launch? We can get a dozen kayaks in and out in the
time it takes one boat on a trailer to launch and retrieve.

And it's terribly inconsistent in Michigan. At Kensington Park they
charge a fee to bring a kayak in- but not accross the highway at Island
Lake state park. Both parks are on Kent Lake, so wise boaters launch at
Island Lake and paddle through Kensington and up the huron.

(Those of us carrying our boats *in* the car are still smug)
