Hi, I'm asking for some pretty specific gear advice. I hope that's appropriate here, as I'm a pretty new subscriber. I've been shopping for my first dry top and, besides the range of jackets with latex gaskets, I've seen a product with closed cell rubber foam seals at wrists and neck as well as the interior waist tube. These are snug--not the kind that needs to be folded or cinched into a fit--but each does have a stitch seam. I'm not sure whether to call it a dry top or paddling jacket. But either way, my question is: can folks with gear experience help me fathom what performance differences I could expect from such a jacket as opposed to the more expensive dry tops with non-foam latex gaskets? The brand of this purple, coated-nylon jacket is Perception (a season or two old); I couldn't find a product name. Thanks in advance for your advice, or web resource recommendations Thornton *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
