Does anyone have experience shooting video or film while swimming in the
surf? I've done this several times in the last few years and got some real
nice footage but occasionally a good shot is ruined because droplets of
water are retained on the housing lens and block important areas of the
image. It seems like the longer I'm out the worse it gets. Salts build up
on the lens and don't rinse off when I swish the housing under water.

I have several board surfing videos and they almost always have a clear lens
in their footage. What do these professional "surf videographers" use on
the housing lens? Someone told me they use a thin coating of wax. I'm
wondering if this is true and if so what kind of wax. Thanks.

Rex Roberton
