If you use the heat method, concentrate the heat on
the larger or outer of the tubes.  What you are doing
is expanding the metal.  All things expand with heat.
If you heat the inner piece more than the outer piece,
it will only get tighter, although it may still work
to break the bond, and it will return to it's original
size when it cools.  I've used this method many times
successfully on nuts and bolts.  If the tubes are in
the boat, I don't think I'd take a change putting heat
so close to the skin.  TomBrooklyn
