Hi Folks, Through several email sent messages to me, I have been chastised by a subscriber for another subscriber having posted a trip report that the 1st subscriber considers inflammatory about himself. I don't know what the trip report is because he refuses to tell me. I don't know what is inflammatory because he refuses to tell me. Yet he considers it my fault it was posted at all and states that attempts to remedy it after the fact is not acceptable and I am responsible (though I have explained to him that PaddleWise is not a fully moderated list). Folks, I don't claim ESP (never have) and the term "list-god" used in reference to me is really just a joke and should not be taken seriously :-) I cannot predict what will be posted and do not monitor all posts to this list which is why it is called "semi-moderated." Semi-moderated means that filters are enacted to catch key words that might either be inflammatory, off-topic, or both and pull only those posts for approval. The goal is to keep the dialogue on-topic and prevent flaming and not to monitor every post to PaddleWise. I am not able to, do not have the time, nor do I want to fully moderate PaddleWise (though I have set PaddleWise on full monitor twice now to prevent chaos during a couple of very heated debates). It is an extreme measure only used until things settle down at which point we return to semi-moderated. If anyone has a problem with something that is being posted, I can't help them unless they tell me about it and allow me the opportunity to try to remedy the situation if it is appropriate. I hope this helps to clarify the monitoring of PaddleWise.
