A couple weeks ago, I asked "which is better - wood or fiberglass." I
appreciate all the comments!

In the event that I decide to go with wood, the second question would be --
Which is better, stitch 'n Glue or Strippers (assuming there is a
difference, but maybe not)?

Again, it is a matter of design rather than construction. And the
design you will like is primarily a matter of personal preference.
Strippers offer more design freedom, you can make any shape you can
imagine where S&G will have chines. S&G tends to be slightly stronger
by weight, but this is primarily a matter of the skill of the
builder. S&G is quicker to build, but the results are not as pretty.
Choose the boat you like best and build it. You will not be
disappointed with either.

Nick

Disclaimer: I sell plans for strippers but that in no way makes me
biased toward the vastly superior qualities of strip-built boats :).

Both. Depends on what you want. Hard to make a round bilge boat with S&G,
Hard to build a stripper as quickly as S&G. You can build light boats with
both and strong boats with both.

I have customers who swear by S&G and some who swear by Strips and some who
swear at both.

You pays your money and takes your pick.

Which, from what I've seen means you pay a bit more to build a Stripper.

I bet this depends very much on how you source your materials. The epoxy and
glass should be similar in cost, but the wood ...

Isn't 4 mm okoume about $US40/sheet?

Don't know what cedar costs for a stripper, but out here, often it is more a
matter of who you know than anything else ... living in the land of western red
cedar, sometimes a willing mill will release some for a good price.
