Everyone,

My San Diego Coast tour is looking pretty lonely so far. Please don't make
me do it solo! My only prospects for paddling partners so far are two
friends who may join me on Friday night and paddle with me on Saturday. I
know this trip has a lot of mileage, and there are some surf launches and
landings, but this is really going to be a great trip. Don't forget, I
paddle at a touring pace that averages about 2 1/2 to 3 knots, including
breaks. This is not a race. I know I said advanced paddlers only, but that
was because a lot of beginner paddlers consider themselves intermediate
paddlers, and also, I don't want to have to tow someone nine miles, like in
last year's Orange Coast Tour. So if you are an intermediate paddler and
think you are capable of doing this trip, please call me at 714-730-5871. I
can't stand camping alone! Don't make me have to bring my friend Jack
Daniels to keep me company!

San Diego Coast Tour, Friday-Sunday, October 13-15, 2000. Hosted by Duane
Strosaker. 25 NM from San Onofre State Beach (surf launch) to San Elijo
State Beach (surf landing), where we will camp; 20 NM from San Elijo (surf
launch) to Campland in Mission Bay, where we will camp; and 18 NM from
Mission Bay to Imperial Beach (surf landing), where the tour ends. The group
is limited to eight, and camping fees will be shared.
