Check your manual. My VHF has a button on the front which says "DUAL" and when I hit it, the radio will alternately listen to 16 and whatever channel is on display. My radio will actually watch three, because there is a mode which incorporates the "CALL" channel as well as the displayed channel, but if I monitor all three, it gets pretty confusing! BTW, the ability to monitor two channels at once is why many operators announce which channel they are on when they first come up, so that the listener knows which channel to pick for response. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Nov 08 2000 - 11:16:39 PST
