Oh my, there are two of us with the same name here!  Less confusing than at work,
where there are 5 Wayne Smiths, I guess.

But to answer your question, they're talking about hull shapes --- a more "boxy"
shape being classified as "Hard Chined" and a more rounded shape being classified
as "Soft Chined".
