There's also that ADT home security system with the guy standing on the
end of a dock with his sea kayak behind him. I only watch the
commercial because I'm trying to figure out what kind of kayak it
is*--anybody recognize it?

*Which adds another ironic ring to Mike Noyes' comment:
>How can you tell a serious kayaker? :-)

I was also told that Jim Gabriel's wooden kayak was featured in the
latest Lexus LX brochure. I can't even afford to walk into a Lexus
dealership, so I haven't seen the brochure yet. The kayak is the Nick
Schade-designed Guillemot Coastal. Hey Nick, does he get a T-shirt??
;)

My free t-shirt deal only works if you also get a mention of
Guillemot Kayaks in the publication. But since I got the ad agency
hooked up with Jim and they paid him quite well for the use of the
boat, I don't think he is complaining. He also already got one
t-shirt for getting his boat in Sea Kayaker with a nice plug for my
boats.

Hey Nick

I guess I don't qualify for the T shirt ( since my kayak has appeared
anomalously ) but I thought I'd let you that my Guillemot Kayak appeared
in the Oct. issue of Canoe and Kayak page 21 and a Labatt beer TV add
with a talking bear.

Harry is talking about the photo of him in the Sea Kayak Dispatches that
has him paddling in front of the sign that says "No Jet Skiis, No
Kayakers" that guards the entry to the big yacht marina.

best,

Nick was nice enough to already send me a t-shirt for the Sea Kayaker photo.
I still wear it with pride.

The photographer (Chris Wimpy from San Diego) was very gentle with my boat.
Not a single scratch on the boat when it was returned to me. I would have
let them borrow the boat for free, but only if I could have been in the boat
surfing it in to shore. I didn't ask and they didn't offer.

made from beautiful wood.
