In response to Gabriel's question "Anybody want to share recipes for the
upcoming holidays?"

This is not a recipe but a tip I learned from a dear friend years ago
and I have used it in his memory ever since...

Just before I put the turkey in the oven I bring a tea kettle of water
to a boil and
pour just enough of the it ( roughly two cups ) over the bird to seal
the skin...you can see it shrink before your eyes.

I haven't basted a turkey in at least two decades and I always get
compliments on the moistness the finished product.

Thank you Gabriel for asking for the sharing of recipes, It allowed me
to pass that tip along and to think fondly as I was typing it of how
many cups of tea were shared with that friend from the very kettle I
still use.

May God bless you all with the wonder that is Christmas!

Happy Holidays,
Rob Dee
