My boat is the Muktuk by Boreal Design (a Canadian Company in Northern Quebec-But a resent trip to their web site shows they now have a large number of American dealers). The boat is rotomolded plastic (argghh never again) and its specs are: Length 16" Beam 23 3/4" Depth 13" Cockpit 16 1/2" x 31" Weight 58 lbs. I am forever in battle with this large red crayon of a vessel-if left on the top of the car to long in the hot sun it molds to the roof racks and then I am forced to lay it out in the sun or if I am too impatient fill it with hot water. The only compromise is that I don't have to look at gauges in the bottom and feel guilty. I worked as a field biologist (in fisheries) for a couple of years and the boat was great for hauling traps, shore line cruises and I cringe at how I brought samples back to the lab-what can I say the boat has sealed bulkheads and makes a wonderful place to store live samples :) The next boat I buy will not be as big, it is a site indead to see me (I am only 5.4") put the big red beast on top of my car. There is nothing worse than having elderly men try and step in and help out.
