subject: [Paddlewise] Opinions on Greenlander?
Date: Sun, 19 Nov 2000 11:28:26 -0600
I am considering the standard Greenlander (ocean cockpit) for combination 2-3 day
camping trips and surfing on Lakes Michigan and Huron. I have test paddled it on
calm water and would appreciate appraisals from others who have paddled it in
rough water, windy conditions & any other aspect you would care to comment on.
E.g., Has anybody gotten a day hatch? Noticeable tracking problems without a
skeg?

Tom Joyce

tom ... i will only comment on the day hatch. Regardless of boat, i believe a
day hatch is extremely valuable. It is easily accessible for things you may
want while on the water. I have a romany and carry the following items in the
day hatch: first aid/repair kit, vhf, cag, spare water bottle, paddling
jacket(depending on weather), flashlight, gloves (cold weather), and some things
that do not come immediately to mind.
