I'm running a bit behind on working on my online trip reports, so just now put
together a report on the Lighthouse Lakes Trails from Port Aransas, Texas.
That's in the area of Corpus Christi, approximately midway along the Texas
coast.

Report with mini-photos is available at:

Texas State Parks and Wildlife Department and the Seagrass Conservation group
developed these trails 'specially for kayakers. It's a shallow water area and
you have to cross a boat channel made for power boats, but a unique
environmental area and very easily accessible. Official opening was October
22, 2000 and I was there - also Paddlewisers Mark Arnold, and Ken Johnson
among names you may recognize.

Hit a gorgeous window of paddling opportunity this past weekend on Adams
Bayou, very close to the TX/LA border. Warm sunshine and a fun group of
paddlers down on the bayou - and wine tasting at a local winery to make it
just right. Texas coast is the place to be this time of year!
