Hi Rex, I have the GTX socks but I've never had the latex socks so I can't really compare the two. I can say that the GTX socks work perfectly, very thin and supple material and I would imagine no more delicate that latex would be. I wear thick socks inside my suit for insulation and to protect the GTX and surf boots outside. The system works so well that I always take a swim to get all of the air out of my suit before each paddle. Some people have questioned the durability of the GTX socks but I can't imagine there being any significant problems.
