I was paddling in the San Juans this weekend (glorious weather) and while waiting for the ferry at Lopez saw the cutest little sea lion ever. About 2 feet long. Alone. I have never seen an unaccompanied pup that small who was not howling for it's mother. This one was blithely swimming around, playing it seemed. Perhaps a new genetically engineered designer sea lion.
