A friend and me tried to get a 4-star last March, but we failed (hadn't been prepared for *really good* bracing and sculling). But we spent a wonderful week there with storm, sunshine, seals, a night-paddle with aurora borealis and phosphorescent plankton. My friend Rainer is still amazed at how good and simple Pete, one of our guides, explained navigation in tidal areas. And we even got to see how Nigel's kayaks are being made. You might try the Sea Kayak Symposium, usually in the beginning of May, where many sea kayakers get together for different trainings, trips, speeches et al.
