I don't understand all the interest in wearing gloves for warm weather paddling....what am I missing? I just put on some sun block and go. I reapply after 4-5 hours if I need it. It's in an easily accessible mesh bag attached to my deck rigging, so it's really no problem. I'm on the southern end of the Cheseapeake Bay, so the middle of summer temperatures can stay in the mid 90's for weeks, with humidity that makes you break into a sweat just going to the mailbox and back. So again..... what am I missing? Have I just been lucky and therefore don't understand what the problems/issues are? Is there a problem with paddling with sun block that I haven't figured out yet??? Is it really about keeping a good grip on the paddle by using gloves, rather than about sun protection? What's the deal?
