Gloves

I use a pair of clothes from the Australian sun cancer shop. They are
very light and made of lyra and cotton. The fingers are missing the last
segment and there is no palm - giving me great control of the paddle.
They are designed just to protect the back of the hands which needs it.
In terms of grip I would prefer not to wear anything and on dull days
use bare hands.

Last year at age 45 I had 15 sun spots burnt off the back of my hands
but I grew up on a lake and have been paddling since I was ten. I have
been told most of the damage is done in the teenage years.

I believe Australia has the highest incidents of melanomas then any
other country
