Remember that the alternative to growing old isn't exactly pleasant, i.e.
dying off!!!

Age is what you make of it.  There is absolutely no reason to be slowing
down.  In fact, age brings an interesting stage of life...you don't feel a
need to put up with anyone's bullshit!  There is nothing to prove.  No
fascade to keep up.  It is a glorious time of life with no pretenses.  You
have either done what you were going to do with your life...or you haven't,
and are pretty much resigned to it.

The sea knows no age.  We are all alien on its waters no matter how sleek a
kayak we paddle or level of skill.  The best way to blend in to its majesty
and forces is to let go of ourselves and that seems to be something older
folk can do best, i.e. the nothing-to-prove point mentioned above.
