http://oneoceankayaks.com/index.htm is the URL of the site someone said John
Winters recommended. With a few niggling exceptions I too recommend this
site for those interested in clear well illustrated information on kayak
design. I especially like the well illustrated description of hull design
terms and hydrostatics at http://oneoceankayaks.com/smhydro/hydro.htm. The
page on picking a kayak http://oneoceankayaks.com/kayakpick.htm is pretty
good too, but I strongly disagree that volume is not an important dimension
to know (as is highlighted on this site--at least if you want to go on any
expeditions with your kayak).
