For cold water paddling, pogies are the ideal solution, since they allow your hands to have a good grip on the paddle, while keeping out the wind and some of the water. However, during the summer, and when it gets about 60 degrees or more during the early season, they're too warm to be used. At this point, many of us switch over to sunblock. Why hasn't someone come up with _warm water_ pogies? You could make them out of some sun-resistant material on both sides, thin enough to breathe but thick enough to protect the hands. Have them come with long sleeves that protect below the wrists and overlap with long sleeved shirts. Anybody want to sew themselves a pair? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
