The Events: SOUTH AFRICA will stage two well organized prestige Ocean Kayak Racing Events as follows: SOUTH AFRICA - OCEAN KAYAK RACING AT ITS BEST International Events: The Cape Point International Classic: Two day and One day international. Cape Point is South Africa's most southern tip. The coast line is beautiful. The event will start in the Cape Point Nature Reserve and take the paddlers around the Cape Point into False bay, finishing at the Simons Town Waterfront.The paddlers come from the Cold Atlantic side and at the point meet the warm Indian ocean. Dates: 7,8 April 2001 Distance: Two day: 2 x 10 Miles ( 37km total) One day: 37 Km Venue: Cape Town South Africa Part of the SA Navy Festival Comments: The race is open to all sea kayaks and racing ocean type kayaks. Distance: 17,6 Miles / 32,6km Comments: The event taking place during the world famous BT round the world yacht challenge during the stop over in the Cape, is open to any international paddlers who want to have a taste of South Africa and the beauty of Cape Town. The " King of the Harbor " rough water world Championship will be South Africa's first and paddlers from across the globe will be attending including the Chalupsky Brothers. The event a one day event is along one off South Africa's most scenic coast lines from Hout Bay to the Cape Town Harbor and passing the world famous beaches Clifton and Camps Bay.
