Sorry for the tardy input, but have been on a voyage to the Big Apple.


    I need a 16" collar, and my son a 16 1/2".  We have never trimmed a
gasket.  Our wrists, are not, however, very large.


    Neck gaskets are quite tolerable, even when new, if you make sure to push
them as low as possible, and certainly below the lyrnx.


    I apply 303 every second or third wearing.  That not only preserves the
latex, but makes the gaskets easier to position.  303 is very expensive, in
small quantities, but I buy it by the gallon, from the manufacturer, for about
$60.  That lasts at least two years, and I also use it for many other things.

    If you feel you must do something, do the stretch thing first.  If that
does not help, so not trim until it is comfortable, because it is still going
to stretch some more.
