Damned if I know. Used to be, SKers had symposiums, WW kayakers had
festivals (usually called "fests" since they have trouble with
multisyllabic words ;) ), and canoeists had rendevoux. The event in
Charleston used to be a symposium; last year it became a festival. I
didn't see any difference. But I just noted that the La Louisiane
Freestyle Canoe event next month is a symposium.

Whatever, the ECCKF is a great time. I'll be there with my PW T-shirt
on.
