another boat for big people is the pachena---current designs i 
believe.  however, my husband is 250+ and bought a carolina.  (fits well in 
the shadow and the composite perceptions, but we like tupperware boats 
because you can accidentally drop them or bash into rocks and your heart 
doesn't break.  it's more like "oh well....")  the captiva is a little 
higher-decked than the carolina with a 1" wider cockpit---may also be a 
possibility.
