I am planning on taking my Pygmy Coho on a couple of trips this year where portaging will be necessary. One trip, the portage will be less than a mile, but through brush of unknown density. It is a bit of an exploratory mission, paddling an old grease trail near Prince Rupert for the first time in a century or so. The second trip has a portage from hell, about a mile and a half, and the parts that aren't straight up are straight down. I walked it once, with no boat, before they lengthened the trail by 40% by putting in the switch backs, and the grade was about 1 in 3. It's down to a comparatively flat 1 in 4 or so now... In any case, is there anyone out there with plans or ideas for a yoke that would fit into the cockpit of the boat, but be removable?
