wow. after all these glowing Florida reports, my husband and i are going
if it happens next year! does it happen every year?

i used to be the concertmaster of the touring company for new york city
opera. (from 1989 to 1999). we did a 3- or 4-month winter tour starting
in new york, swinging south and west. florida came in the middle, about
this time of year, cold cold february. it was BLISS. add a kayak and
subtract the opera, and you still come out ahead!

thanks for the reports. sandy, congrats to the new mom! the puffins look
wonderful.....i'm now fantasizing about paddling one!!

best

If it does, let me know so I can leave town!! I can't believe the number
of people who have written offline informing me that they are planning to
come to Florida. I think I created a monster...;)

Seriously, it's going to take me a long time to recover and no way could I do
what I did this time. Someone else would have to coordinate it and everybody
would have to make their own way to the meeting place. Just keep me posted
so I can come along for the fun part.

I started looking for a campground five months in advance and everything was
booked. When people leave at the end of this season, they reserve their
sites for the following year.

How about P'wisers from other areas of Florida???????

sandy kramer who is just starting to recoup her energies enough to start
planning to go to the Charleston reunion (I ain't as young as I used to be).

I strongly suggest that a reunion be planned to coordinate with a kayaking
symposium/festival where logistics are already in place

Good idea, Sandy. I know that most of us felt sad taht we douldn't spare
the time to also go tot he Sweetwater Festival a week later. And it
saves a lot of time and energy planning activities. Plus, a certain
number of people might be going to the symposium or festival anyway, so
there might be a larger turnout.

I remember that I was already working on the Keys when they started
mentioning the Sweetwater. I hereby suggest that whoever knows the layout
or whatever on Sweetwater gives us a little rundown on how things go. What'
s the URL? by seeing this years, we'll have a good idea of what to expect
next year.

Are there any Pwisers in the Sweetwater area who are willing to be the
contact person?

cya in sweetwater next year.....just got the Charleston brochure last night!
