This is to announce that I have established a mail list group for devotes (and anyone else) of the domain of Foldable Kayaks. It is a Yahoo.groups list and has a page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Foldableseayakers You can join by sending me an e-mail with your e-mail address of choice and whether you want each e-mail separate or a digest. I am the moderator but anyone can send messages to: Foldableseayakers_at_yahoogroups.com You can also join directly at the site I believe but I am not sure if you can opt for digest vs. individual e-mails. Feel free to try though. I am using Jackie's rules for moderating, plus the Yahoo folks have some of there own like not a "selling" site. So if you are a Foldable Freek like me, send me your address and preference and I will send you the invite post-haste. Comments also welcome. PS. Jackie doesn't mind, or mind my announcing using Paddlewise, I checked. It doesn't pay to fool Mother Paddlewise. --Mel-- =^..^= http://melskayakpage.homestead.com http://www.mellammers.net mslammers_at_mellammers.net Foldableseayakers_at_yahoogroups.com *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). WUNDERBAR! I in the process of rounding up Pakboat's Puffin FK owners and wannabe owners with the thought of establishing a group/list. I've had one positive response. We're definitely the slow-pokes in the group...but I was thinking that we could slide into the mini-folding kayaks category. What does Senor FK Guru Ralph Diaz think? (No offense to Herr Pouch FK Ralph - just that Diaz has paddled a Puffin). www.pakboats.com sandy kramer miami *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Sandy, I was even thinking about you when I put the notice in Paddlewise. The picture is neat. I may have to get one of those for my really short work trips of a week when near water. Slow is relative. Looks like a Foldable Kayak to me. If the play boats can be kayaks, the the Puffin surely can be. --Mel-- =^..^= http://melskayakpage.homestead.com http://www.mellammers.net mslammers_at_mellammers.net -----Original Message----- From: Gypsykayak_at_aol.com [mailto:Gypsykayak_at_aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 5:41 PM To: mslammers_at_earthlink.net; PaddleWise_at_paddlewise.net Subject: Re: [Paddlewise] Foldable Kayak Mail List Announcement WUNDERBAR! What does Senor FK Guru > Ralph Diaz think? (No offense to Herr Pouch FK Ralph - just that Diaz has > paddled a Puffin). The Puffin moves at about the speed of the Folbot Aleut, a mini folding kayak. Probably one of the mini-Nautiraids would also be in the general range of the Puffin. But on these comparisons, I am working from memory as I have not paddled an Aleut nor the small Nautiraid in years. The Puffin is at about half the weight of the Aleut (literature says 39 but it is probably closer to 34 now) and 15 pounds lighter than the small Nautiraid. ralph diaz-- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . .
