A wonderful source of information specific to kayaking in Acadia National Park is "The Sea Kayaker's guide to Mount Desert Island" published by Down East Books. Kayaking the coastal waters of the park, particularly up into Somes Sound, was, by far, our most memorable kayaking trip. Have fun.
