[Paddlewise] can't we all just get along?

i was one of 3 or 4 people who chimed in asking for succinct net 
replies.  i have now received some rather mean-spirited public (and 
private) chastisement which i do not appreciate.  of course i am happy to 
remove my signature!  i am <not> happy though to have it put down, or to be 
slammed for <having> a signature.  is that necessary?

i feel like i don't want to write stuff here any more, especially after 
being criticized for my "dozens of posts".  well, gee, i'm sorry for using 
paddlewise as a resource and for asking questions and being curious.

but....then.... what <is> paddlewise for?  is it just a macho 
i-can-paddle-rougher-conditions-than-you contest?

i really am perplexed.
