I'd like to add that as a last resort you can probably tie your PFD to a paddle blade for the float. That's what I did when I was first trying to keep the paddle from sinking while trying to use it to stabilize the kayak to climb back in. The downside is its much more difficult then to keep your head above water while attaching the PFD. Again worth practicing because it may work after your Paddle Float blew off like a balloon in the wind (if you forgot to tether it).
