I would like to hear about great paddling places in Arcadia and possibly on the Maine coast. so please copy with anything you send out on the subject.

I hope to actually get to the east coast this summer.

Marilyn

Hi Marilyn

I have paddled the Maine Coast, including the Acadia Park/Mt.Desert Island
area, for the past ten years and feel like I have only scratched the
surface. Rather than recite my list of great trips, here are several
paperback guide books that make great reading this time of year. The one I
recommend most highly is just off the press: Kayaking the Maine Coast - A
Paddlers Guide to Day Trips from Kittery to Cobscook, by Dorcas Miller,
published by Back Country Guides, Woodstock, VT. Other good ones are Hot
Showers - Maine Coast Lodgings for Kayakers and Sailors, by Lee Bumstead,
published by Audenreed Press, Brunswick, ME; Sea Kayaking Along the New
England Coast by Tamsin Venn, an Appalachian Mountain Club Book and The
Maine Island Trail by the Maine Island Trail Association, Rockland, Maine.
Also check out the Southern Maine Sea Kayaking Network's website for group
trips that may fit your travel schedule. They welcome visitors. I would
plug their URL in here but my web connection is hung up.

Enjoy
