From: "tfj" <tfj4_at_home.com> > Looking for practical suggestions for a short paddling trip into Lake > Superior Provincial Park. A little closer to the Sault than Richard's suggestion: Head into Sinclair Cove and paddle south. This will take you past the Agawa Rock Pictographs - worth the trip IMHO. If the weather is good, you can head out to Montreal Island for a lunch break - you may see caribou that were reintroduced to the island. > I am already familiar with Lake Michigan and Huron > paddling conditions for that time of year and will compensate accordingly > for much colder water and rougher seas. The waves on Superior seemed more like ocean waves than lake waves to me, accustomed as I am to Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay. Longer wavelength than I'm used to. This makes for easier paddling on big waves - you move up and down rather than bounce! :-) Mike *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
