Just like to put in my endorsement of Rapidstyle Fuzzy Rubber (with the
standard disclaimers) . I have found this stuff to last long, and give me
the amount of warmth needed here in our temperate winter conditions. I got
a pair of "blem" long pants from their website for only $35. If you call
them, there is even blem stuff and seconds not listed on the site -- just
ask. And the damage is only cosmetic. I ripped those pants rescuing a
friend's boat from being smashed against a breakwater, and Dana at
Rapidstyle sent me some iron-on patching material.

I have the women's long-john with the relief zipper. It's comfy and I wish I
could wear it more often, but the water here is usually too cold. The
placement of the zipper is totally nonsensical and I had some silly
embarrasing moments trying to use it. However, it would work with a relief
device like the "freshette."

Neoprene shorts must be a Kayak specific affliction.
My alternative is to paddle a canoe and wear wool or
polarfleece. I only resort to neoprene, full farmer
johns, when I absolutely have to.
