Sorry Scott, that has to be a bummer.... I am amazed that anyone who would enjoy a kayak would steal one, but then I guess that those bums are not kayakers as we know them. I also am always struck dumb when I see trash in a nature setting, it is such a contradiction to me. I store my spare plastic kayak on my side deck and have a vinyl coated bicycle cable and lock to secure it to the deck railing. I also use the same cable and lock when I have to leave my car unattended while traveling with my kayaks. I hated the idea at first, but have just accepted that unfortunate thing happen occasionally and protect my kayaks as best I can so that I don't spend time worrying.
