Latest from Karen: 8:00 pm Thurs Janell's sister just called, having just recently arrived in Baton Rouge, and having just spoken to Janell (which explains the busy signal on the number we usually call). When they left the hospital this morning to return to Baton Rouge, Larry was still quite still in bed, still hooked up to the ventilator. But through the day, he was taken off the machinery and said that he wanted to sit up and get out of bed. So .. they let him sit in a chair, which all were happy to see. He also indicated he was hungry, and ate two bananas and a couple of crackers. His long term memory is fine, and he's been able to discuss his case with the doctors and nurses, but he doesn't remember that Thecla was there, or that Janell's sisters were there. His chest tube is still doing its job. His arm seems to be doing okay. He told Janell he's had enough of the hospital, thank you, and is ready to move on. Will wonders never cease.
