From my experience, that process can take a while. Standard procedure is that the DNR routinely treats any death of this sort as a potential homicide --- gives them the most control of the situation. (We do something like that with aircraft accidents --- essentially treating them as a crime scene.) Sorta precautionary overkill. Still trying to get a better handle on experience level and expectations. What is "experienced" and "avid" in one person's opinion might be very different for others. May know a little more tomorrow.
